Aircast Boot

Moon boots / Fracture Boots

Patients suffering from a fracture or soft tissue injury to the ankle or foot may be required to spend a period of time in a moon boot/fracture boot. Moon boots have multiple uses in the medical field from conservative management of stable fractures to short term stability following surgery.

We, at Inmotion Orthotics, have a variety of fracture boots available to fit depending on your injury, stability required and budget. We will ensure that the boot we fit you with is suitable to your injury to give you piece of mind that you are correctly following your doctor’s recommendations to the fullest.

The biggest benefit of a moon boot is the ability to maintain your mobility during the healing process to reduce the impact on your lifestyle. This ability to walk within the boot should always be discussed with your treating doctor prior to doing so, as the initial healing stage, may be unsafe for you to put weight on your leg initially.

ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) bracing helps in protection and healing of the knee. They are mainly designed to assist in the recovery of ACL damage and other knee ligament injuries including MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) and LCL (Lateral Collateral Ligament) injuries.

The PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) is stronger than the ACL however can still be injured through a blow to the upper shin (tibia) of the knee. PCL bracing comes in 2 varieties depending on the requirements. There is preventative PCL bracing for protection of the PCL during high intensity activities, and there are also healing PCL knee braces which support the PCL and reduces posterior draw of the knee during healing after a tear to ensure maximum stability of the knee after treatment.

We have multiple options available depending upon your specific requirements as there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to individual needs.

The range of different types of OA knee braces available is extensive and a wide range of factors need to be considered before determining the ideal fit for your needs and lifestyle. We have extensive knowledge with the range of options out there and are in the best position to assist you in determining which brace is best for you.

Post-Operative Bracing

Post-operative bracing, despite its name, can be used either to assist in conservative management of an injury, or to assist in the post-operative. They can be used to aid in the healing after surgery by restricting your ability to accidentally exceed limitations on your range of motion. Due to the sensitive nature of your joint post-surgery, these braces always need to be customized to fit each individual patient.

With us, you can rest assured that you will get a customized and an effective post-operative brace designed to support you during your recovery period, matching your Surgeon’s goals.
